Valerio Torsiello

I am a second year Ph.D. student in the Networked Systems Group led by Laurent Vanbever. My research focuses on improving the communication scheduling and performance of devices in the context of large scale distributed ML training.

I earned my Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at ETH Zurich, graduating with distinction in 2023. In my Master’s thesis I designed policy inference techniques for BGP paths, aided by simulations over artificially generated topologies. Prior to that, I received my Bachelor’s degree at the Università degli Studi di Salerno in my hometown of Salerno, Italy.
